The EFRA project is pleased to announce the release of the Interactive Pest Prediction and Feedback Dashboard, the third decision‑support tool developed under Use Case #2: Enhanced Predictive Capabilities for Pest Alarms. This tool strengthens farmers’ ability to anticipate pest outbreaks and provides a structured feedback mechanism that continuously improves model accuracy.
Early Pest Warnings with Real‑Time Field Validation
The dashboard consists of 2 integrated components.
The first provides early warnings of potential pest outbreaks, indicating which pest is expected, where it may occur, and the likely risk period. The second introduces an enhanced, non‑binary feedback workflow that allows farmers to validate alerts and enrich them with detailed observations. Users can report pest presence and intensity, record development stages, upload photos, and document concurrent field damage such as abiotic stress or extreme weather. This creates a continuous, real‑world data loop that improves the system’s contextual understanding and predictive performance.
Powered by Climate‑Aware Pest Behaviour Modelling
The tool deploys the Modelling Shifting Insect Pests Behaviour and Disease under Climate Change model, designed to capture how climate variability influences pest activity and distribution.
It integrates multiple data sources, including:
- Farm‑management data on pest appearance
- Farmer‑reported observations and feedback
- Pest‑occurrence records
- Weather data (relative humidity, temperature, precipitation periods)
Development and Validation
The tool was developed and validated by:
- AGRIVI – tool maintenance, proprietary algorithm integration, domain expertise, validation, and dataset provision
- WFSR – data analysis and preparation of updated models
Accessing the Dashboard
